Post #3 - 3rd Six Weeks (Film and Graphic)

I am thankful for my niece. Whenever I found out I was going to be an aunt, I didn't really feel that much different. I know people who are aunts and uncles way younger than me. But I drove to Fort Worth the day my niece, Maddison was born. Something just came over me. I felt a love that I'd never felt before in my life. I felt so proud to be an aunt. I strive to be a good one for her, taking care of her when I go up to Fort Worth to visit my family. I cry everytime I have to leave her little side. She's such a precious girl and I love her tons.

Post #2 - 3rd Six Weeks (Film Production)

High Angle Shot - Purpose is to make you look skinny and smaller.

Low Angle Shot - Purpose is to make you look big and scary.

Dutch Angle - Purpose is to portray the tension in a scene. Tilted angle.

Post #2 - 3rd Six Weeks (Graphic Design)

I found this photo by searching "marathon runner." This guy has his shoes off, so he is probably done with the marathon, plus he has a medal around his neck. He looks torn up. 26.2 miles of his life have gone by and his legs hurt and his feet hurt and his whole body just hurts. But he endured the race for the medal around his neck.

Post #1 - 3rd Six Weeks (Film & Graphic Design)

When I was in high school, I used to love going to the amusement parks. We have a Six Flags in Arlington, so that's where we loved to go in high school. One time I went during Christmas break and it was freeeezzzing cold. We still decided to ride this one roller coaster that goes forward and then backwards. So first, you back up on this really tall part and kinda pause before it drops you forward. This time it was raining and when we backed up, the roller coaster BROKE! There were dudes walking up the stairs to fix it and we were just stuck in the air panicking! They finally fixed it and we rode the roller coaster but we were so so scared. After that, they closed the roller coaster for the night!

Film #3 Post

For me a movie has to not be scary to be good. Just kidding. I really don't like scary movies, though. Movies that make me laugh and cry are the best movies. I think my favorite movies are the movies that make me think. Those are the ones that can change your life.

Graphic Design #3 Post

Family. One of my life goals is to someday have a family. You might think it's weird to think about such a thing, but having a focus on something is always great to look forward to. Right now, I am not ready for children, but I'm finally ready to admit that someday I really want that for myself. It seems like it will be a lot of work, but it definitely seems like it would be worth it.

Film #2

Almost Famous may have changed my life. This was around the time I was learning about music and discovering I could think OUTSIDE of the radio box. 20 years old is a time when you're really trying to figure out who you are and this kind of helped me on my path. It's moving, beautiful and sad all at once. This makes me want to go home and watch it again just for that reason.

Graphic Design #2

I've been running since 9th grade. My basketball coach told me I had to or else I couldn't make Varsity. Running more than 1 mile seemed close to impossible. By college, I was running about 2.5 miles a day. I used to actually hold a walkman CD player in my hand while I ran and I thought 2.5 miles was SOOOO far. When I moved to Las Vegas, I started running 3 miles a day. I would time it so that I would start my run 30 minutes before the television show The OC would start, that way my runs would be really fast so I wouldn't miss anything. 2 years ago, I started running a lot. A lot a lot. I ran the 3M half marathon in 2 hours and 11 minutes in January of 2009. Now I am training for the Austin Marathon. On February 20, 2011, I will run 26.2 miles in just one day. It will probably take me close to 5 hours. I am really scared, but also really excited to take on the challenge.

Graphic Design & Film #1

I remember the first time I rode a ferris wheel. It was a mini/baby one with my dad at Six Flags in Arlington. My dad is a wuss, I came to find out later, but at the time, he was going to protect me if anything happened on that thing. As I grew older, I became more afraid of ferris wheels, not less. It almost makes me want to not travel to London because I feel like you’re supposed to ride on that giant one that people take pictures in front of that I don’t know the name of. There’s also one in Coney Island, in New York, and I looked at it. I took a beautiful Polaroid picture, when I still had film left, of the ferris wheel, but chose to ride the scariness of the Cyclone roller coaster instead.  A friend of mine broke her back on that roller coaster. I wasn’t there, but I heard the stories.
